I have posted this falls before, in fact the first two images in this post are the same images that I shot earlier in the summer and am posting here again so that you can get a better view of the falls, the last was shot this afternoon. This morning I had to run some errands so I took the camera and my dog along with me. I only live about a 12 minute drive from this falls and the easy hike to it is a great place to take the dog for a walk so it was a win/win, he got a walk in an area that he doesn't get to often and I got to shoot the falls using a long lens and an 8 stop ND filter....

Thank you, they say I live in the "land of waterfalls" and that is not far from the truth as there are hundreds of falls within a 2 hr drive from my home, few are as spectacular as this one.

I live in Tidewater Virginia. Whereabouts (generally speaking) do you live and have such amazing vistas nearby?

I live between Cashiers and Brevard NC in the mountains, in fact I live just over a mile away from Gorges State Park. The Blue Ridge Parkway is just under an hours drive from my house, it would be a shorter drive but there is no direct route to it, have to drive to a near by town and then north to get there.

A lot of people don't care for silky water, you certainly are not alone in that preference, me, I love the silky effect especially on smaller streams and cascades.

Thanks for looking and commenting.

I recently read in "Afield" (the NC edition of The Nature Conservancy Magazine) that Transylvania county in NC gets 71.1" of rain annually. Brevard, the county seat, is just 28 miles from Asheville which averages just 44 inches of rain a year.
