I'm looking for a company to build my photography website. Not sure what price range I want to invest in.

I will tell you 2 things you must have in mind. Price and features. How do you want to lay out the site. From my experiences, I would plan on $1500.00 for a complete site. but be sure to look at websites like SmugMug that offer pro sites at a fraction of the cost.If you have someone build you one and you are not code literate, then you will always be tied to them for additions or changes.

I use smugmug. It costs me $150 a year plus an extra $7 for my domain for my name. Smugmug will help you set it up if you need it, otherwise there are step by step instructions on how to do it. I can also sell my photos from there and set my own prices. Check out how my website looks. www.valrasphotography.com

Val - looked at your site - great pics, but I found it very difficult to navigate, and only one gallery showed up ?!?!? Check it out - may just be me not being smarter than the home page . . .

pbase.com & build your own very simple, good looking & cost effective. Used by many pro-photogs.

Why don't you just go with smugmug.com and let them handle the orders, etc. They'll just e-mail you when someone makes an order, letting you know what photo(s) they chose, and how much money you get from it. Then you choose when to have a check cut for yourself. Plus, you get your choice of 2 print labs, and you get to set your prices.

And if you just have to have a custom look, they have "themes" to get a different color scheme, as well as layouts, and you can even customize if you want an even more custom look.
