My condolences to my British friends here and abroad. While as a US citizen I don't recognize a monarchy (bow to or give allegiance to) , I have to say I very much liked and admired Queen Elizabeth the II. When she could have fled to the relative safety of the countryside during WWII, she stayed in London and actually played a part in the war as an ambulance driver. She was the epitome of grace, culture, and elegance. In the Oxford dictionary the only definition needed would be Queen Elizabeth II. She will be missed.

We will not see her like again - a truly grand lady. My condolences to our UK members.
My father, through some convoluted circumstances, was once seated next to Queen Elizabeth at a small dinner party at one of her country estates. He was totally awestruck, but was able to recount his wartime experiences in London, while she went to great lengths to put him at ease. One of the highlights of his life.
Thank you everyone for very kind thoughts for our wonderful Queen, she will be so greatly missed I was 8 when she became Queen so she has been in my life for 79 yrs. I have received several letters and photos over the past several years they will be treasured greatly. I make all my own cards and send them to the Royal family and I always receive a very nice reply.
During WW11 the the Queen was asked about the children, (Elizabeth and Margaret) not only leaving London, but actually leaving the Country.
Her response was typical of our Royal family when she replied, “The children will not leave unless I leave, I will not leave unless the King leaves and he will never leave.”
We've lost an exceptional human being who I doubt will ever be replaced. It was from watching "The Crown" that I learned so much more about her. Condolences to our "mates across the pond".
My condolences to the British people on the loss of their Queen. May she Rest In Peace🙏
