Actually, a tragic contrast that you captured in the title. Tolstoi's War and Peace, considered the greatest modern book by many, does the same in a much grander narrative. Few people may know that 3,000 years ago another author by the name Homer tried to do the same in 28,000 verses (Homer, The Iliad and The Odyssey) only he was thinking of a real PEACE, a permanent one in which women are in charge.

Thanks for looking and comment, ssymeono. I deliberately avoided using War and Peace because of the title of the book. Of course I know of the book and believe I have a copy somewhere; I've not read it yet but I'll get to it one of these days. I've read The Iliad and The Odyssey a couple of times. :-)

Nice composition (yours). I am a little surprise that the painting is a modern contemporary looking style. That style of cartooning is that old? And nothing traditional about the painting. Yet your photo is from around 1970 again or is this from a recent trip. The street lamp looks up to date. Sorry if I keep asking about the dates of your photos.

I think the contrast of what is obviously a forbidden area denoted by the wall and concertina wire, and the children playing on the wall makes a vivid statement that we are not all about peace yet no matter how we hope.
