I watched "Photo Genius" do a demo using Luminar Neo last night, and it was impressive. Of course, anything can look impressive with an expert using it. Have any of you used Luminar Neo? Like most other programs, it's available as a "rental" or for $109 outright without the Extensions. You can buy the Extensions for $209. It's odd that the Extensions are almost twice the price of the program. Is the program any good without the extensions?
I have become a Lumiar Neo convert! I've had a love-hate relationship with Skylum, as they've changed the product name, licensing terms, cost, and pretty much everything else. But I took them up on an upgrade offer to NEO and liked what I saw (more like, I liked what I could do with it). So, on top of that, I took them up on another offer, and added the subscription. The base program is mine. The extensions they are producing and releasing through the subscription become part of the program and (I believe) will remain even if the subscription lapses.
Currently, I have the HDR Merge and NoiselessAI add-ins, and I'm "pre-ordered" for the UpscaleAI and the AI Background Removal extensions. Not only does NEO work as a standalone, but it also functions as a plug-in to Adobe products and Apple's Photos. For me, the Power Line Removal tool is nearly worth the entire price of the program. The sky replacement feature is the best I've even seen (close-up around edges of trees and through pockets of light). Like so many other programs, the feature list can be mind-boggling; Skylum has attempted to reduce the UI confusion by incorporating features into sections and sub-sections. Still, for me, there's still a bit of "hunting" to find the feature I'm looking for. That should come easier with use.

Thanks. Take a look at the screen shot below. Does the base program have that list of tools on the right?
This line on their website could be taken two ways. Does that mean you pay $109 to use it once?
That's badly worded.
"$109 Per user One-time"
I upgraded from Luminar 4 because I thought it had some features I would use--it didn't. The only thing I use it for is sky replacement. IMO it is the best sky replacement tool available

Is that Neo?
Yep, I upgraded to Neo. One other thing, Neo makes it easy to transfer photos from my computer to my phone and back

I threw caution to the wind. I did not buy any ears of corn. I upgraded(bought) to Neo. I have no problem with it. LR/PS are my go to programs

I have more than the base program, so I have additional items on the list. There is section for Extensions, and I have a set of "Professional" tools (Supercontract, Color Harmony, Dodge & Burn) as well.

How does the list in that picture compare with the standard $100 version? I'm just afraid that if I buy it, the right column will be empty, and I'll have to spend another $209 to get the useful bits.
EDIT: I assume that if I buy the Extension Pack, I will get what's currently available, but not future extensions.

Definitely it’s the most fun of the major post-processing programs. But I still use PS for its selection tools and Topaz Sharpen (when needed).
I bought Neo back on 8/21/22 and I didn't pay close to $100 here in the USA . It was the latest version 1.3.1.. It has in it , Essentials = Mother Nature = Macro =Lifestyle =Landscape = Portrait = Cinematic = Aerial ... Tommy

Thanks. I'll offer them $65.00. : )

I’ve had all versions of Luminar since it’s inception, including Neo. It’s excellent, but fairly slow on my high performance laptop.
I’m editing hundreds of photos from a wedding and it’s crashed several times. I’ve reverted back to Luminar AI which is more stable, faster, and has 99% of what Neo has.
