Tara and Toby went to the groomer today & both got nails, shampoo etc., the works and Toby got a haircut (about 2"+ came off)- this 100+ heatwave left him panting even after 10 minutes indoors after a trip outside.
#1 Tara just got the harness off and is getting a hug from Mama. "See my pretty Blue Rose?" "Now let me down I got missed yard patrols to catch up on."*
#2 Toby was content to stay inside in the AC and beg treats as well as show off his snazzy Orange bowtie.
#3 What Toby looks like with his full winter coat.
#4 Tara and deputy on squirrel patrol when everything outside isn't melting in the heat.
*Only a few minutes and she came back in for treats and to make the AC and fans her BFFs.
My crew approves and sends four paws up, Bob!
Your pups are smart to stay near the AC. Nice shots.

And they have a new more powerful AC I just got operating 2 hours ago.
I still need to cut pieces to fill in the tall casement window space above the 12,000 BTU unit I got. Temp fix is foil covered styrofoam insulation sheet taped over the opening.
I can already tell it puts out much colder air than my portable I have been using which could not handle these 100+ days. Besides those portable units partly cancel themselves out with heat radiating from the case and especially the exhaust hose.
The coming day is predicted at 106 to 111 depending on which weather service you check. Today hit 107 for the official temperature for Corona CA. So I guess I will find out how well the new unit works. If the electricity doesn't fail.*
I just checked, after midnight and still 82 with high humidity outside. Places around CA are setting records for September and in many cases new records for any time of year. Death Valley hit 127 while those other records are ranging from 106 to 118.
*Those electric cars the state just announced they want everyone to buy by 2035 the last 6 days they have issued directives to save electricity and one thing they are saying is "Don't charge you electric vehicles!" We are running short of power (1/3 comes from out of state) now and they want all new cars to be electric in 13 years while they are not building new power plants, in fact they are talking about closing our one remaining atomic generating plant which by itself produces 9% of the state's electricity.
