I'm having a lot of fun doing street photography with an 8 inch f2.0 lens for the 1950s. This particular lens, a Dallmeyer Super Six Anastigmat, is highly prized for its bokeh. It's kind of a challenge, because it weights 8 pounds and needs two hands to focus and support, so quick focusing is not a possibility. I like challenges, and while it doesn't always work, when it does it is nice, especially with its razor thin plane of focus. Being far away also means people are unaware, and I find candids on the street much to my liking. And Italy is a great place to do this kind of shooting.
I prefer your method, if not the bokeh... LOL the images are fine, though, and that look is certainly unique!
Great images but 8 pounds must be a struggle!

Wonderful images . . . .
They all make me feel as if I were a part of the action.
They do make me . . . .

Nothing wrong using a tele for street photography, well illustrated here with your excellent images. All of them excellent as I said but a favorite is No. 6.
Yes, 8 lbs. is pretty heavy for a lens but if it keeps you in shape why not use it. I prefer the gym.
I love these. They are more interesting to me than lots of street photography. Your photos catch subjects telling a story. Very pleasing!
Impressive work. I like them all.
I love these images, and that narrow DOF is magnificent! Not typical street shots.
