$3900 buys you 45MP of glorious full frame EOS technology and no mirror. They might get some takers around $2000 for mirror-based technology sporting only 20MP.

I bought a 50MP Reflexasaurus for $850, on impulse and nostalgia. But $2000 is already in the $$ range of real cameras.

Dont sell them too short. The are still the second best DSLR Professional canera ever built. The were upstaged 2 years ago by th 1dxmkiii

As I recall 20MP is popular with many of the pros who sell to magazines because the magazines don't want big files and the pros don't want to be bothered with downsizing their files since they often transmit directly from the shoot site. Might be a limited market but it is still a very capable professional camera.

I'd rather have an R3 over the three versions of 1DX when we get to this level, size and cost of DSLRinosaurs, just a modest 24MP over these 18 to 20MPs.
