I was just outside taking star photos and my tripod stopped functioning as it should. I thought I was going to have to buy a new one.
Fortunately for me, I was able to correct the problem, though it took me close to half an hour.
Here are some photos taken afterwards.
My pussywillow tree lit by the dumpster lighting 10 feet away. Hate it being that close to our yard!

Have you attempted a Star Trail yet with that phone?

No I've not. Might need to use an app for that, I'm not sure. Star Trails haven't really appealed to me that much, so I have not given much thought about trying.

I like shooting star trails if I have an interesting foreground subject. I usually do these in the fall or winter because it gets dark ealier and I get home earlier. :-) Anyway, there is a long exposure app called, Even Longer. Not sure if it's available for an android. I will be attempting to get a star trail with that app using my IPhone 13 Pro Max. The latest update to that app included a intervolmeter allowing for multiple long exposure shots. Stay tuned.

Hey that sounds like you'll have fun. Maybe I'll check to see if it is available for Android.
Good night shots. Yes, smartphone cameras can, indeed, take nice night shots.

If it's not available, the Camera FV-5 app has a "pseudo" long-time exposure. The app takes the longest exposure the phone allows, then repeats the exposure until the time is up. Kind of like taking multiple exposures on film without moving the camera, I guess!
