Converted from a 2D photo using a displacement map. Use anaglyph glasses to view.
I usually make 3D shots from two photos but for this one I used the displace filter to create a 2nd angle of view from a single photo. This photo appeared to be easy to establish planes to manipulate. The tree line, person and bottom part of the anchor were each pretty much at a single distance and a solid color was used on the displacement map. The base of the tree line to the foreground, the anchor shaft and the timber were three planes of varying distance and I used gradients when creating the displacement map. It's not perfect but I was pleased.
Here is the displacement map for those who are interested.

Thanks, William but this was not intended to be a work of art. The different shades of grey determine in which direction and how much the pixels are shifted by the distort>displace filter. This creates a second viewpoint to use when making the anaglyph.

Thanks Dan, much appreciated. It's good to know someone likes to see the 3-D work.
