My contribution for this weeks free Sunday is a series of “ on the fly” captures at the Bristol Renaissance Faire in Kenosha, Wisconsin pre CoVid. It’s a great place to capture portraitures because of the colorful costumes and makeup of the participants. It’s a little difficult to get good captures because of the constant movement and the fact that they will not engage, in fact , will move on when being photographed. They are all done in available light and rendered as best I could. I’ll look for a few more Sunday morning. I should have a file somewhere on a hard drive.

I came across this one in my files last week. Winter in Alaska, a photo taken on Turnagain Arm of Cook Inlet southeast of Anchorage more than 20 years ago. The beads of water in the photo suggest I took it from inside my car. Looks like it was pretty cold that day.

Every year I look forward to entering pictures in the North Idaho State FAIR; 100 years old this year. I did OK with 9 ribbons, but only 2 first place. My daughter on received 4 ribbons, but all first place. Attached are some of the winners and several that didn't do as well that I like.

Congrats on your first , Gary & all good to see. You’ve apparently taught your daughter well, as well. 👍👍👍

These are fantastic Steve. They look like professional high paid models posed and taken by a high end professional photographer. Had they been, they would be fantastic. Considering they were done "on the fly" w/o engagement, I couldn't be more impressed. Spectacular, Stupendous, Lovely.

Now is the time and Free Sunday is the day. Share your leftovers or new shots you want us to enjoy as much as you have. It only needs to be family friendly, so anything from your archives or brand-new captures will make the grade here.
I’ll start with a few from my archives that will involve waters we’ve relaxed by.

Looking forward to seeing them. I went there in 2015 and it rained almost every day. That was even good. Other than trying to keep the camera dry during the rain periods, the breaks between had fabulous clouds. I’m looking forward to seeing your favorites!

Rain limited photo shoots at Godafoss and a smaller falls off the beaten path favorite, but we got plenty of waterfall photos! Loved the zodiac trip on the big glacier lagoon. Underwhelmed by Snaefellsnes Peninsula but weather was poor there and we were nearing the end of our 2-week drive, so it was ok. I heard two good mottos—There is no bad weather…only bad clothing/gear. Or…only bad attitudes. Good advice! Sounds like you made the most of circumstances too. Yes, sun breaking through was spectacular!
