Not sure which forum to post these on. These are from the late 1970s and early 1980s on film scanned to digital.

Thanks jerryc41, in those days I know less about framing and exposure than I do today and that isn't saying much. I just snapped pictures to capture the moment. Nowadays I spend so much time getting things ready I miss the moment half the time. :D

Interesting series of images. Their IQ is good considering they are a few generations of reproduction and likely shot on ASA 125 B&W film. Thank you for posting them.

Related to the area and subject. I know a fellow (a former sergeant?) who some years ago was stationed in Korea to train army guard dogs. This was during calmer times ('80-'90s?) and he said that visitors could get tours inside the DMZ! Sounds crazy too me. It is a zone between two (fortified) fences. Too bad he did not take photographs. Today he is a dog groomer and dog trainer in California near where I used to live.

Good B&W.
Would love to see these shared also in B&W section.

I've heard people pronounce it this way but I don't think I've ever seen it written like this.

Thanks for looking. Korea is well automated now with large tractors and rice planting machines. It is really amazing how this country has industrialized in 45 years. I know life was hard back then but I'm glad I had a chance to experience it and take a few snapshots.

Thanks Architect17176 :-) I will post them there as well. Is there an easy, one or two clicks, way to do it?

Thanks lamiaceae :-) 80s - 90s was a dynamic time in Korea. That is when the lifestyle in these photos was lost. I suppose it is for the better; the country is much better at growing more bountiful and successful crops but the small towns and close family ties are dying off.

Yes, definitely shot with B&W film at ASA 125 and or 400. Some would have been shot with a Yashica TLR 635 that can use 35mm film and some would have been shot with an Olympus Penn EE3

I figured 125 vs 400, say for example Plus-X and not Tri-X because I don't see grain in your images.

You got my curiosity up :-) #1 & #6 are on the same strip of film Kodak 5063 I believe is TX-400. They weren't shot with the Olympus so that had to be shot with a Yashica 635. I would have set the camera at infinity and done an area shot without focusing. #1 & #6 were shot in 1979.

If the typhoon hits tomorrow like it is supposed to and I can't go out I'll dig up the film on the others and see what it is. :-)
