Happy Birthday to me!

Well...I took a chance on da'Bay, and negotiated a slightly better deal on an as-new D 7500 with the 18-80 f/2.8-4 lens.

USA camera and lens! Now, if the unthinkable happens, Mother Nikon will repair it!

Took a significant chunk out of my stash, but the Good Lady Wife helped with the purchase, seeing as it was my Birthday. HAPPY!

I spent most of last night till late playing...errr...Getting used to my new photo machine, resetting the programs to my liking, checking for front or back focus and such.

Fixed a couple of minor Gotchas...turn the lens AF switch ON! Duh!

Didja ever notice that the "manual" you get with Nikon lenses is harder to refold than the old free roadmapss you used to get at filling stations?

Dear Flyboy,

As I used to say years ago, the old roadmaps used to tell you everything but how to fold them ! So what did I do ? I got a new one each time I went to a gas station. I guess besides technology I had a hand in making them collectors items ! Anyone need a collectors item ? (smile)

And wouldn't you know it! The ones you purchase are just as hard to fold properly. But, thy are printed on thicker paper. Career Computer Industry veteran, but this son of a Surveyor needs a tangible map!

I actually do collect these old state road maps (Texas). The oldest I have is a 1920. These maps are so great...the colors and composition are great. Details and legends stand out well. I have about 6 maps from various years. Used them to hunt up old ghost towns back in the day.
