I placed an order with Hannaford for curbside pickup yesterday. Then I placed an order with Sam's for the same pickup time - today 9:00 - 10:00. Sam's wanted to send me an email so they would know it was me. That email finally arrived at 2:37 AM.
I went back to the order this morning, and they want to send a text to my landline using the wrong area code. I tried to do a Chat, but I'd be #47 in line. Life can be funny sometimes.
Speaking of curbside pickup, the grandmother of a local guy had the order put into her Honda Fit. When the guy closed the hatch, he broke off a piece of trim. It was a $200 part, and I don't know who paid for it. Yes, life can be funny.
That's why I go to the store.
Plus, it gets me out of the house.

I like being home, but I do leave occasionally. Having someone do the shopping for me and then put it into my car is great. It would be even better if I was able to pick up the Sam's order this morning. I'll try again next week.

A man after my own thoughts.
Sometimes a person just needs a change of scenery for a few minutes.

Most would agree with you.

My Sam's only sends a text message notifying me that my order is ready for pickup.

I've been trying all morning to place this order. They say they are sending me a code that is good for 15 minutes, but it takes them up to twelve hours to send the code. I have never gotten one within 15 min. This is something new they are doing. I'm aiming for a 10:00 AM Sunday pickup.
EDIT: Another fifteen minutes has passed - no code.

But I think you're missing a big plus to in-person shopping. It's been brutally hot and humid here on VA's Eastern
Shore this summer. I've been making a real effort to get in a lot more steps per day than I can do just walking around the house (even if I take "the long way around" to get where I'm going). Have realized that going to the supermarket or Walmart gives me a chance to get in lots of steps inside in their air conditioning. (Of course, I guess the downside to that is that often while increasing my step count by just browsing up and down aisles after I've gotten what I really came to get, I come across, and succumb to the temptation to buy, stuff that I wouldn't have bought otherwise. (Did I really need that round grill press when I already had a perfectly good oblong one?)

Get your a$$ out the door and buy whatever you want and stop all the minutia.

I get in quite a few steps - inside the house, in the yard, and back and forth to the garage when I'm making something. I don't consider shopping to be exercise, though. : )

I get all my veggies from ice cream.
This is LA, CA.
FedEx drivers sometimes "sublet" or 3rd party" their trucks.
Quite a few complaints came from all the mealkit deliveries.
You get a subscription, and an ice-packed box of food arrives on Wednesday.
Except it's now 90, Friday, and that box has been in the truck for three days now.
The other complaint is that many apartments are "secure". You need a key to enter.
Every delivery company has a key for that door. UPS, USPS, FedEx, etc.
But that 3rd party guy doesn't. Either no delivery, or he just drops it off.
You bought, paid for it, they shipped it, you received it- you just didn't get it.-
If my local grocery stores closes down I know who to blame.
