Legend (in our family) has it that my grandmother went up on Mt. Nebo to live during the hottest part of summer to enjoy cooler temperatures while my grandfather stayed below to work the farm. Supposedly she could look off the mountain and see him plowing below. They've both passed on many years ago so there's no way to confirm it.
