Recent cicada?

I think there was a cicada here recently, hope he's doing well. Found this still stuck on my ash tree this morning.

it's just a shell of its former self but as luck would have it, it found its piece of ash...........sorry couldn't help myself

But that we could just shed our skin every few years, leaving behind blemishes and sun damage...alas, we are stuck with shedding skin flakes and some being eaten nightly by skin mites that unseen roam our skin.

I remember as a kid these “husks” in the hundreds on the trees in our yard. I don’t see or hear as many as we had back then in these parts. Nice shot, BTW,

Yikes, as one who has had literally dozens of skin cancers removed in the last 20 or so years, all but one on my head, that would be nice. I'm blaming it on growing up on a John Deere D in Kansas with no umbrellas or hats.

Thanks Stan. I think there may have been more when I was a kid, but I'm not sure.
