Nesting, we think, Gator. She has been at the same place for the last three wildlife drives that we have made.
Gray Headed Swamp Hen. We've been wondering when they would finally show up. First time we have seen then with chicks. They look like the Purple Gallinules at first glance, but much bigger, different feet and different head.

It appears that the lake is really coming back well.

Thank you, Mike! I appreciate it! Yeah, it has cooled down a bit and the humidity is definitely down. Much more comfortable conditions to work in! And should be getting better still in September!!

Yep, they are doing a lot of work out there, the reports on water testing are looking really good. Maybe they can open it back up for Bass fishing some day. It used to be a world class Bass lake.
