When did you take these? I was in An Khe in 1969 which is just below the DMZ.
They were shot between January 1978 and November 1984. The girl waving and the pet birds was probably shot in Yongjugol in 83 or 84
The others were probably shot around Tokori in 78 or 79. Peeling onions was probably shot in Paju in 81 or 82.
Another batch of good ones, waegwan. I like the top one best--it has a friendly feel about it.

Thanks for looking. Yes after the top two they are a little gloomy. The sadness of them wasn't my intention. At the time I just wanted to photograph my environment. I'd never seen streets like that before or people sitting like that or doing things like that in the street.

That is an amazing experience. When I was there (An Khe) in 1969 the war was really heavy and being close to the DMZ we were on red alert a great deal of the time. While there I would write my wife and tell her that if I were not in the middle of a war zone this would be a great place to visit, as it is really beautiful.
Upon returning home, I always wanted to go back, after the war, and really see all of the country. We did that 6 years ago and had the most amazing time and got some incredible photos. We had a tour that went to all three geographical areas, north, central highlands and south. We had a driver, guide and the two of us in a very nice car.
While there are many who were there in the war would never set foot there again I thought it was an amazing trip and the Vietnamese people love America and Americans. Too bad many of our own people do not feel the same way.

I think we have a little confusion and it is my fault. I believe An Khe is in Vietnam. These photos are from Korea's DMZ.
