I have been visiting a local park for 36 years many visitors have remarked that they found more wild life here than any other park. Over the last five years all the wildlife seen has dropped by well over 95%. My walk yesterday over 1.5 miles of boardwalk in the once well populated swamp produced a few (<4) tiny jumping spiders, several ants and of course a bunch of mosquitos. Very intense anti-mosquito spraying/fogging has been done across Florida this past decade reportedly to protect us from the Zika virus (CDC:"Since 2018, no local mosquito-borne Zika virus transmission has been reported in the continental United States.") Our raccoon families are gone our gator count in this park has dropped dramatically as well no doubt linked to a lack/loss of food prospects. A walk in the park is very boring these days.
