For many years a group of guys have gathered off Waikiki around 9-12 midnight to surf under the moon light …some of them have LED lights on their boards …
IMHO …, this is a hard shot to beat .. it’s a moving target off the light of a full moon ..more info than that would infringe on the proprietary aspects ..
A hint .., a boat with a powerful light …and timing ….

You have produced a singular photograph most interesting to look at.
I'd remove the cloud formation in the upper-right area for a tighter, cleaner presentation. Just crop it out.

really neat shot. I like it. The shadow or whatever it is under the board sort of bothers me though. Be easy enough to clone that out though. Wish I had taken this one, I would defiantly brag about it

that is a great shot! What is the shutter speed on that? A few years ago, we stayed at a house along Mission Beach and the first night we were there the surf lit up a few houses down by this system, and by the time I got there, all the surfers had left. I thought they'd go another night that week, but they never did. Interesting concept.

Really nicely captured. That is one of the best surfer shots I have ever seen. If it were my shot, and it's not, I would clone out the green shadow under the board

Anotherview …, thnx , my brother told me the same thing ..,about the green shadow of the board .., it was a shadow that turned green during processing .., I had just left it in .., additionally as mentioned.., about cropping to remove the reflected light in the clouds.., I just took it out .., the main focus should be on the surfer ..,

I lived in Hawaii for 7 years in the 1970’s and NEVER witnessed anything like this. I think you may have had a major problem finding volunteers during that time frame; because you may recall a little movie had just been released named “Jaws”. Lotsa paranoia abounded for a while, and it didn’t take much to rekindle it periodically.🥺 Oh yeah, we did get a bigger boat😎.
