Hello folks!

Here is a lens that is in need of a body. We just don’t know which body. There are no other identification marks on this, the rear is maybe 5/8” and threaded on the outside.

Interesting!

From what I could find, T-mount and M42 mount are both 42mm diameter (≈1.65 inches), but different thread pitches, and they are not compatible with each other.
≈5/8 inch is 15.875mm.

Good luck!

Yup and it's a 35mm lens and it's supposed to be a wide angle lens so it must be for at least 35mm format not smaller format like 16mm cine etc.. But the 5/8" screw mount is way too small for 35mm format.

It said Wide Rikenon so I think it meant that is is a wide angle lens yet 35mm is a telephoto if it's for 8mm movie camera.

Similar "difference" for a 4x5 view camera. But I think it would still be called a 35???
What lens would one have to use on a 4x5 to get a field of view similar to a 33mm camera?
Something like a 150mm on a 4x5 would be like a 50mm on a 35mm format?
The 150 for the 4x5 is still labeled 150.

a 35mm is called 35mm but if it's for the 8mm movie it's not a wide angle. So if it's both 35mm and wide angle it must be for format 35mm or larger. A 35mm for even 6x6 is very wide and would be very rare. I don't think they ever make anything 35mm for any larger format. So very likely the lens is for the 35mm format (24x36mm) but what kind of camera with such a small lens mount. Even the C mount is 1".

Thanks for the link! I saw this while I was researching and I wish I could see the other end to confirm that it is the right one

Doesn't the third picture look like a bayonet mount?

I don’t see an aperture ring here. Possibility it’s an enlarger lens?

Instead of a "maybe" diameter, please measure. I am betting it is much more than 5/8".

Enlarging lens has aperture ring. Enlarging lens doesn't have focusing ring. But in this case it seem that the lens does have focusing ring but no aperture ring.
