One thought, I am sure if Nikon could fill all those backed up Nikon Z9 orders, the Z9 would have surely made this top ten sales list. Cheers to all brand users.

I read that the over all sales champ for mirrorless in Japan the last several years or so has been the Canon M bodies and now the R's added together.

Is it important what the top sellers in Japan are?

Maybe so in Japan, Worldwide mirrorless sales still have Sony leading that category.

Here is the video announcing these numbers. This is a longtime Canon guy "Ordinary Filmmaker" and he admits that Sony leads in mirrorless sales worldwide, with Canon leading in overall sales when you include DSLRs.

Cheers, and FYI I was a pro Canon and Nikon user for 40 years (both brands) before moving over to Sony.

Is the idea supposed to be that the best selling cameras are the best cameras?

Of course not.

If you have the best selling camera it automatically ensures you will take the best pictures

Thanks, but while he talked about the different cameras, and speculated about what may be coming next, and discussed the weather, he never got around to telling us why knowing the top sellers in Japan is important.

Mr. Williams, I believe, has a Sony fetish. He needs to expess himself and UHH is a good place to do it.

It would be nice if he spent some time posting pictures as he has a very nice potfolio.

But UHH is a place where anyone can decide why they want to be here.

It's all good fun!

What do I think about it? I could care less, for me, it's all about what a camera or lens does for my style of shooting. If I think a particular lens can make a difference for me, I could care less if that particular lens or camera body is selling in the top 10, or the top 100.
I buy on what I need, not on what everyone else is buying.

For the record. I actually have shot with Nikon and Canon for over 40 years (both brands) , much longer than having shot with Sony (five years). And I still own some Nikon and Canon gear. I dont have fetishes for any camera gear or brand, they are just tools, and I choose to use the best tools available for my work at the time..

BTW I have posted hundreds of shots of mine here in UHH, i guess you just missed them all , LOL

And as a longtime Professor of Photography I teach photo students with equipment from all makers. And I post news about all brands here in UHH, do your research please.

Get your facts straight before commenting. But I guess that isn't the UHH way, where folks just mouth off anyway. LOL

Cheers Bill

Lawdy folks...put down the knives down.

It's simply an accurate snapshot on what the Japanese are buying right now.

Unless you are an Oly user...then I'd say...put down the ...pen knife.
