Hi,
I remember seeing some time ago a vest that you can wear and carry your camera gear in and when required it could be turned into a carry bag going through airline checkin etc it is a vest
Is it still available and where could I obtain one
Just remember that I am in Aus
I am looking for this for an upcoming trip to Africa and the UK in June July

Just so I’m clear. Are you trying to find a “vest” that can be converted/transformed into a “carry bag?”
The ScotteVest is great, but it doesn't turn into a bag. It's much more fashionable than a traditional camera vest.
That's funny! "Humvee Camera Vest" They have their target market selected.

True, but a bag cannot be carried through checkin; it goes on the conveyor just like a vest would, so being able to convert to a bag would offer no benefit.
You can go to a sporting goods store and look at fishing vests. The needs are similar. People who stand in the water to fish carry extra reels, fly line, boxes of lures snacks, etc. Stores like Bass Pro, Cabalas, Dicks, etc. usually have a large variety. Another type of vest are shooters vests. Skeet and trap shooters vests have fewer but larger pockets. Both types of vests can be bought in sizes that fit over a jacket or parka.
You might find them satisfactory and far less expensive. Most won't have large enough pockets for large telephoto lenses. For that, I would recommend a belt loop mounted lens case.
I recently bought a two wheeled beach cart from B and H Photo. It is very easy to pull or push and carries a huge amount of gear.
Try a surveyor's vest. I got one at Duluth Trading on sale.

Pricey too! I see this as more useful the other way. You wear it as a vest for check-in and once you’re on the plane you convert it to a bag. That way it doesn’t count against your carry-on items.
While you can't change it into a TheVestGuy produces a great vest that can be customized. After years of using backpacks in the woods and on hikes a really prefer the vest.

Yes that is right, just want to avoid the hassles at checkin as it is quite hard trying to "carryon" your camera gear
Yes ! that is exactly what I want to be able to do especially when going on smaller aircraft

This is what Amazon has for surveyors. There isn't enough money to get me to go out shooting wearing one of these.
