Just learned about a program that's going to be premiering on Netflix today (Aug. 18). It's called "Inside the Mind of a Cat," and one of the featured experts is my friend Dr. Bruce Kornreich, the Director of Cornell University's Feline Health Center. Thought some of my fellow Hoggers might enjoy it as much as I know I'm going to.

I think there is going to be a sequel to that called, "Inside the Mind of a Cat Owner".

I'll be looking for the show you mentioned.

Love your suggestion for a sequel.

Cats don't have owners. They have staff.

I'm sure anyone who is owned by a cat knows that.

You're right, of course. I should have worded the title more accurately. :)

Cats guard the gates of Hell. That's why once your soul is there it is never can leave much less being allowed to leave. Remember the great movie line, "Now youse can'ts leave". It applies there also.

I'll watch it but I always suspect the validity of "experts" who determine what any animal is thinking. They all tend to anthropomorphize pet or animal behavior assuming there's a human emotional reason behind every animal action. When a cat rubs up against you it's marking you with scent glands, it's not showing its affection. People wouldn't be so pleased with their cat's behavior if instead, it sprayed their leg.

I watched half of it last night and enjoyed it. The conclusions about cats' inner minds are based on many, many repetitions of trials. Yes, I am owned by a cat.

The first pilot got nixed by Netflix.

The first submission was 27 seconds long ending up with the statement...'Basically Cats are A-holes'.

Netflix suggested...filling it out a bit.
I'm glad it was revised.

Did someone figure out a way to get a cat to sit through a full cranial MRI?

One of the best ways to know what a cat is thinking about is to watch their tails.
