I don't usually do this, keep a memory card in my pant pocket !
It went thru the clothes wash and dryer and still works !

Afterwards; I loaded a photo on my laptop into the 16gb Sandisk Ultra (80mb/s) and withdrew it properly, then put it into another Mac Book Pro and the image reads correctly.
WOW !
I thought it would be ruined especially with the clothes dryers heat.
This would not be the case with a film !

The die and bonding wires are <epoxy> encapsulated.
It doesn't surprise me that it still worked.

It's a medium in which I still work. I've taught two of my cameras to go either way.

Yes, they are very durable. Cameras have been found floating in the ocean for over a year, and they produced good pictures.
