Either a scam or possibly stolen. Avoid like the plague.

i wouldn't be surprised if it was "hot." RSP (receiving stolen property) is a dumb way to get jammed up

Scam. I inquired about a "too good to be true" once from a local ad. Well, it seems the local person had moved to Canada and wanted money sent there. I told him good luck with your sale but that I only purchased locally.

I like the scam theory, this would be a fairly dumb way to sell stolen goods that are easily identifiable. I recall a similar ad few years ago for smoking deal on a Nikon D5, the seller responded with the "I'm in a different city now so send the money and I'll ship the camera" story.
I thought it interesting that such a ridiculous low price instantly raises suspicion, if he set the price at say $2500 or so it would appear more credible.

Maybe the “seller” is ignorant as to the value of what he’s trying to sell. I guess it’s the cop in me, but it screams of a scam or stolen property. If it is stolen, he’s likely counting on someone who really wants this kind of camera and would leap on a cheap price. It’s most likely a scam.

Reminds me of the story of a guy that ran off with his secretary. He wrote a note to his wife that she could have the house but please sell his Corvette and send me half the money. He received a check for 250.00!
