I complied this for a topic along the lines of, 'Wood and Water'. The sculpture is mine. All photos used are mine except the jumping dolphin in the bkg. I am wondering if the dolphin in the bkg. adds, adds too much, or not enough to the picture. I value all comments. Thank you. I see the blue is a little intense.
Overall I like it. But as you mentioned the water is awfully blue. As for the dolphin, perhaps closer to the horizon and smaller. I find my eyes bouncing back and forth on the dolphin and the sculpture.
Beautiful Sculpture, nice lighting & composite, but personally, Loss the dolphin. The hero is your sculpture. I would move it to the left and darken the background.
Just my opinion and we know how that equates to some body parts
Steve
I find the added dolphin a distraction. I’m also a bit concerned about the piece of birch your sculpture sits upon - it sort of hovers between looking as if it’s half in the water and not quite being anchored to the grass area? You’ve got the blue covered.
That’s a beautiful sculpture, and very relevant to our nearest town, Swanage, in Dorset UK, where there are regular dolphin sitings and, hence, much made of the dolphins image around town. May I ask what wood you’ve used?
Thanks guys for your comments. Seems to be in favor of ditching the dolphin so far. Birch tree sculpture.
I guess I’m odd man out. I like the dolphin as he/she repeats the angle of the sculpture. It also adds interest to the picture which otherwise only has the beautiful sculpture.

JMHO. I think it's beautiful. I think it's perfect just as it is. It's OK if the water is a bit too blue. I think that's what makes the whole image POP!!!! The sculpture is fantastic!

OH NO! Please don't ditch the Dolphin! JMHO again...I think he BELONGS there. I think he shows that the birch tree dolphins look exactly as they should.
If you feel you must ditch him, please at least save a copy with him left in it.

Keep the dolphin
Thanks everyone for your comments. I did save the one with the dolphin in the bkg. But I worked up the version without it too, now.

I have a feeling that you couldn't ruin it if you tried!!!!

That looks good to me, you’ve brought it together very nicely.
