Moonlight Fantasy on the Old Farm

I'm pretty sure this is some industrial site along I-77 near Huntersville, NC, in 2022. In 1975, it was an abandoned farm. The house had burned, the barn had crumbled, and the implements were rusty shards in a field.

Original was a black-and-white negative. Digitized in raw, inverted in Negative Lab Pro, tweaked in Lightroom Classic, altered in Photoshop Neural filters, tweaked again in Lightroom Classic.

Be sure to view the download.

Thanks! A B&W version of this is in the Black-and-White Photography section.

Stimulating, interesting result!

What do you see differently in download, Bill? Now that the thumbnails are 2000 pixels wide, I don't see any difference - maybe because my monitor is only 13.3 inches

Downloads look sharper on a 4K 27" monitor. My posts are usually wider than 3000 pixels. This one is 4029 × 2686, more than double the 2000 pixel thumbnail. If all you have is a 2K display, well, no you might not see the difference. But there MAY be a profile difference, since the tagged/embedded profile in the file is interpreted in download mode, but is stripped off in the preview.

Thanks Bill. I envision most UHHers browsing with a tablet or small laptop, in their recliner with their feet up, cat purring in their lap. Oh wait - that's me

Color profiles other than sRGB are usually easy to identify in thumbnail view. Drab and dark.

Camera was a Nikon FTn with a borrowed 35mm Vivitar f/2.8 lens that had the worst astigmatism of any lens I ever used.

Film was Kodak Tri-X, probably processed in D-76, 1:1 dilution. I did all my own B&W lab work in high school and college and beyond.

I made all the mistakes on my high school's dime
after was 2 1/4 and 4x5 in college and later the
home lab in my garage storage room wet/dry and
a sink that was the bomb 3x6 galvanized steel man
spent hours in the dark listening to the radio 70s/80s
once I went digital 2000s I never looked back but the
experience only made me appreciate what's/what/now

the 90s was three kids to feed and make a living life

I was sixteen fifty years ago when I found the lens

Similar story here... just turned 67. I started getting serious about photography at 13. After college and a couple of years in radio announcing and commercial production, I spent 33 years in nine project management roles at yearbook printers and school portrait labs. 1990 to present has been raising three kids...
