As I mentioned before, this was kind of an experiment, and I'm satisfied with the result. I finally got the red piping for the inside, but it was much too small, so I used the whole width without cutting off the flap. I have to trim the fabric from the lower left corner of the lid. The handle is offset for balance. I know it looks odd with what seems like more of the weight on the right, but that's the balance point. The covering material is called Tolex, and it's used for instrument cases and covering for amplifiers. The lining is made up of beach towels from Hawaii. I used 3M 77 Adhesive to stick it to the case. Rigid foam insulation makes up the raised section around the body. I'll probably add another strap on the right side to hold the open lid.

Thanks. As I always say about my projects, "It's not perfect." It was fun working on it, though, although there was lots of thinking required.

I am a little surprised that with your sense of humor you didn't title this "Case Closed".

Nice job! I really like your choice of lining material. As for not being perfect, I read some 20th century artist said 'Don't worry about perfection, you'll never achieve it" you should be very proud of your work.

Yes! A lack of perfection has been my lifelong goal.
