Shot on a Yachats, Oregon trail, one of a few sunny mornings. It rains about 9 months out of the year there, it must be because it is next to the coast...they call Yachats “The Gem” of the Oregon coast.

Nikon D810
Nikon Nikkor 24-120mm F-4
ISO-1000 24mm F-4.5 1/60s

Beautiful. Because I don't have my own pics to play with for a couple of weeks, I've borrowed yours - here it is straightening the trees. (Not saying it's an improvement).

Yes, it is, thank you. The 24-120 f4 does have some barreling to it, it’s one drawback I think with the lens.

Interesting- if a feeling of gazing upwards is required, your aspect does the trick.

It is a nice shot, particularly the way the sun's rays are captured. Not to be picky but the convergence is caused by the upward perspective not by lens barreling.

I have had issues with it barreling at the 24mm range. I also hadn't updated the firmware on the D810 at the time, which deals with lens distortion. But you're right the barreling would be at the outer edges, which does not show in the image.

That 24-120 lens is a very capable and versitile lens and your shot is quite good. I believe the latest firmware for that D810 is v 1.14. The Photography Life review in 2020 of this lens is titled "Superb versatility and value"
