I remember 10 cents - a dime out of the machines - and then yes, when I needed gas for the car we would ride around picking up bottles along the road for the deposit - gas was 30 cents a gallon so you needed 15 bottles !

I remember going into the corner store as a lad with only a quarter in my pocket and coming out with all my pockets full of candy. I can't do that today for there are too many darn security cameras!😜
