That looks like a heck of a deal. I almost went for it and then remembered I don't need one.

I have gone bankrupt several times saving money on things I did not need. OK, not bankrupt but could have bought something I really wanted/needed.

You keep promoting Benro gear without offering alternatives. Why? Have you ever considered other options?

Of course, these are current specials from B&H, on other days they do offer deals on other equipment.
I consider any price reduction on quality equipment. Wouldn't you?
Just trying to be of service to those on this site.

I bought it.

$49.95 total, delivered.

Most monopods are too short. This is 6.5ft once I put my tilt top on it. The eyepiece will be 6.8ft above the foot.

My eyes are only 5.5ft above my toes.
This should handle any terrain that Im likely to encounter.

Need ? NEED ?? Neeeeeed ?!?!?
(Insert your chosen imogee here.)

Do you really *need* to do photography ? Dont you already have gear that you dont need to enable you to do something that you dont need to do ? This could greatly further that pursuit at minimal expense ! Classical economists all call this "magical thinking". Dont you want more magic in your life ? Acoarst you do, dont we all ?

I was considering getting one of these, since this is a great deal, but then thought "With the incredible ISO capability of my Sony cameras (which aren't even flagship models) do I really need another piece of gear or can I just hand-hold? Answer was hand-hold.

Maybe you work under more favorable conditions. Get a monopod and get involved in more marginal working conditions. Your pix will be ever more interesting as the light trails off.

Beautiful images, but my point was -- as the light trails off the ISO goes up so no need for another piece of gear! There is a serious condition called ISOphobia, which can limit creativity.

My motto --just try high ISO and liberate yourself.
