These collages are some of a series I started a few years ago I call it "Symmetry in Surrealism". The concept of the series deals with finding a balance between what I call "our constructed world and the natural world" As part of an artists statement I refer to the process as reducing (or deconstructing) the constructed world to simple forms, then finding a balance in those forms, and finally creating a balance with the natural world. I believe for anything to flourish there needs to be balance. The images with an aspect ratio of 1:1 are later in the series as I believe a square represents balance. Finally, all the images I use are my own, I do not copy or use anyone else's images in creating my own work.
I have submitted several of these images to a few Call for Entry shows, but have received very minimal acceptance. I certainly understand judging for art shows is very subjective and I will say I've developed a thick skin as far as rejection is concerned.
I've been visiting this site for a few years, so I thought I would see what the UHH members had to say about my series. Comments and constructive criticism welcomed and appreciated.

They certainly are not your typical photos. But I take that as a good thing. I particularly like your Moon in Perspective. A lot of thought went into your work, and you should not be too upset with "poor" results. Your thick skin is a plus. I am not sure if you are aware of the Digital Artistry thread here on the Hog. There you will find much out of the box presentations. Good luck and keep creating.
Definitely not wasting your time.
Very interesting, I like them.

I'll be right back - let me drop some acid.... or maybe I already did. I really like these surreal images. They bring together multiple disparate thoughts and images into a clean sharp collage. Keep up the work and share more with us please.
I like them. Keep going. The subjective nature of photo artistry means they will find the right set of eyes eventually and get the recognition they deserve.
Wow - these are excellent! Well done.
I think your work is beautifully done. You certainly have mastered this art form.
MrMophoto... fantastic right out of the opium dreams of a movie.
I like them. I have done roughly similar stuff as a Photoshop experiment/ exercise. But it is not something I would seek to do all the time.
I’m your case I like the last one the most!
Very interesting work. Not a waste of time at all. I like your results.

Thanks to everyone that replied, I appreciate all the positive feedback. I'll continue to post more of my work for further feedback. I grew up in Long Island and the NYC area and spent a lot of time in the museums looking at Oldenberg, Dali, Picasso, Wesselman, Calder, Cornell and others. I have slowed down on this project and have recently been making "Plant Portraits"
Slow down OK but don't stop. I would call these composite abstracts and they are wonderful. They show great imagination and wonderful technique. Keep up the good work.
No way that you're wasting your time. Keep it up.
