Out of my archives due to heat, an "iffy" knee and my general "blah!" feeling from my allergies, and a sky-high pollen count. This little guy has a good grip on the bark of a tree in a stiff breeze. I was at the Riverwalk Parkway in Riverside, CA. in late Feb of 2016. The tree is no longer there, for some reason they cut it down. The tree was on the island by the observation platform in the main pond. I was on the platform only about 10 feet from the bird. The light is afternoon sun from the left at about 4:30 PM and the high SS was to freeze the moving leaves and flowers.

Canon 7DII, 100-400L mk1 @ 340, 1/2000 @ f/14, ISO-1600

Yes, I know the image is very "busy" but I still like it.

Thank you
My portable AC just can't keep up with 99° days. I may need to upgrade the family room with a window or wall mount since the room was an add-on so the central heat and air don't service it. A friend who is an electrical contractor is going to upgrade our power for the second time. He also did it ten years ago before the family room was added on and we needed a line for a Spa. The family room got tied into one of the older circuits for lights on the patio the family room replaced. (and it isn't enough, I have to go out and reset the breaker sometimes) The house was built in 1964 before all our modern electrical appliances, computers, etc. I may just have him run a 220 line and cut a hole in one wall for a wall mount unit with some serious BTUs. Perhaps a heat pump so it cools and heats.
I have a while to think about it since he is the contractor for some of the local hospitals and has some major projects for them to finish first.
