Z9 import to LR Classic

When I try to download my Z 9 to LR Classic using import it does not give me the Z 9 as a Source as it does with my D850. I have all of my LR Classic updates as current. Is there something I still need to do in order for it to find my Z 9 as a source? I do have it connected via the cable provided with the camera. Thanks in advance for your help.

Make sure you have the latest LR update installed. If so, the next update might have the Z9 included.

I just updated it two days ago. Guess I should call Adobe. Thanks.

It appears that the cord that came with the camera is faulty.

Just use a card reader

There might be a menu setting you need to change. Most digital cameras with USB outputs have TWO modes of operation. One of them acts like an outboard drive, while the other is PictBridge, which allows you to connect a digital still camera (referred to hereafter as “digital camera”) directly to a printer without a PC, enabling direct printing on the spot.

In other words, if the camera is in PictBridge mode, it cannot connect to a computer as a storage device.

I tried. It can’t find the camera either.

Why would a card reader need to find the camera. Just look in the DCIM folder.

The computer can’t find the camera. Sorry, I don’t know what DCIM is?

You said the card reader couldn’t find the camera. If you’re using a card reader the camera is not involved at that point. DCIM is a folder on the card.

I am going from my camera directly to my computer. But the camera is not showing up in settings which Adobe said means the cable is malfunctioning.

I was mistaken about a card reader. Sorry.

Look in the menu on the Nikon for a connection option for PictBridge vs. Point to Point.

It would be extremely rare for a cable to fail out of the box.
