Has anyone in Fujiworld updated with the new firmware? I have an xt3….is this something I should do? I’ve never done this before. If needed, What is the best way to do it? Download on a card or plug the camera directly into the computer?

I have always downloaded to a card. They give the instructions at the download site.

I’ve done it many times on all my Fujifilm cameras, easy peasy!
1) format the SD card in your camera.
2) download the firmware from Fujifilm’s website to you computer.
3) insert the formatted SD card into your card reader or computer SD slot
4) double click on the SD card to open it.
5) drag and drop the file you just downloaded to the card
6) properly eject the SD card from the computer
7) place the SD card into your camera
8) while pressing and holding down the display/back button turn your camera on
9) follow the instructions on the camera
10) good luck

If there is new firmware you should install it. My experience installing firmware on Fuji and Nikon has been with the memory card. Always worked flawlessly.
