Made me look twice, so I "took it home" to see what a little work might reveal.

Its a puzzle alright. Sorry, no hints.
But you are welcome to call a friend.

Youre seeing exactly what I saw, no falsification involved on my part. Any processing was for authenticity and improved clarity.

However, the subject exactly as I happened upon it was already kinda deceptive yet intriguing. It definitely required a closer look to understand exactly what I was seeing.

Puzzlement aside, the strong graphic nature of it had already caught my attention well before I began to look closer. Therefor I bagged it.

Well I’ll guess that the plastic glass is laying on it’s side and we are seeing its angulary lit shadow.
You also moved the camera around to get the least recognize able image.

Edit: well done whatever you did.

Thaz pretty much it ... except there was no need to move the camera view to a "least recognizable" view. Its the same at all angles, which is why it caught my eye as I was just walking by.

The "unrecognizable" quality is from the lighting, a harsh nearly point source in night darkness. I saw the strong shadow before realizing what was making it.

The view is basically straight downward with slight angle adjustment to avoid broad reflections.
