I got my Phottix flash triggers and so I threw up a flash in the hall and took a one-light-low-key portrait.

It took a few tries to nail the focus; I set a light stand in place as a "stand in" and focused that way.

Not looking for critique (though it's ok if you want to) I'm just bored.

5D Mk II
50mm f/1.2L
430ExII
Phottix Atlas II

thanks, I thought I'd give that a try. I wish I had a human model that would be agreeable to pose for me...it's tough getting the wife and/kids to do that... :)

yes, you just touched on a "pet peeve" of mine. i find it extremely difficult to find a willing subject. i offer free portraits & still can't get a taker. i think the cell phone cameras have eliminated people's need for photos. at any rate, keep up the good work

Thanks.

I've been thinking about doing this next spring or summer...candid street portraits.

Set up a white paper backdrop, and wait for people to come but and have everything set, and snap one if they are agreeable.

This guy does it and it looks like fun.

Do it! Show us what you get. I watched this video and I swear that photographer was in our little town, because for months photos that looked just like his were displayed around town. It was neat because everyone was someone you knew.
