Curious to know if anyone has used Xotic PC to build a computer specifically for photo editing? How long ago, what operating system, CPU, RAM, etc. Were you happy with the company?

P.S. I see that some comments already are going away from the question being asked. Really would like to hear from anyone who has used Xotic PC specifically. Thanks!

Very expensive way to go.

Build your own, anybody can do that. It is like Lego.

I have had extremely good luck With iMacs
And they are as easy to use as a PC actually easier for me.

I'm definitely in Frank's corner. I've been using a 27" iMac for some years now. It's a pleasure.

It is a longshot that you will hear from someone using that particular service. There are lots of prior threads here addressing the specs that you asked about.

Ok, some ultra fast research. Just Google Xotic PC. Near the top of the listings are questions about the company's reputation. It does not look so good. See for yourself.

One vendor that has received high marks on the forums historically has been Puget Systems. Their website also has the nice feature of recommending specifications for the build depending upon your intended software usage.

I have a win10 laptop, and if I didn't need to for one piece of software it would be in the junk.

Yes indeed.

And btw, Intel is at Gen 12 (Alder Lake) with Core CPUs and Gen 13 (Raptor Lake) to supposedly be released shortly.

I looked recently --

HP is offering a decent gaming machines in the $1000-1500 range (depending on he specs you want). It's competitive, so the Big Producers probably have something similar.
