Unhappy Starling

Early one morning last March, I looked out my window as my coffee was brewing to see an unhappy Starling letting everyone know that he didn't appreciate other birds approaching him and his food as he perched on my suet cage to eat his fill. I took this shot with my Sony RX10M4 at F5.0; 1/1000 second; ISO 100; Manual and at 219mm. Not too bad for a 20.1 MG partial sensor camera. Shooter41

Not too bad did You say??? Excellent should You write!I love how the feather reflect a kind of green hint.
Is the bird lit with natural day light or did You help with a strobe/speedlight?
Whatever...i find the lighting interesting.
Good job, nice photo!

Dear Dan' de Bourgogne...
The bird was lit with just natural day light and no strobe. But, it was VERY OVERCAST that morning and the natural light was totally even with no shadows and no bright side, dark side. (IE...The bird stayed still to guard his breakfast, so I had plenty of time to study the histogram and to dial in a perfect exposure with no clipping on the highlights or shadows.) I think that being able to shoot completely still on a tripod is why I was able to achieve sharpness and capture the entire spectrum of subtle colors of the angry Starling feathers sue to the flat lighting, as well as the string of saliva from his upper to lower beak. I wish I could shoot in overcast sky's all the time after seeing how this image turned out. Shooter41
