I really like it, looks like two Pecan trees in the rear, you should be able to pick a bunch come September.
Good eye letmedance! There are thousands of native pecan (pee-kahn) trees along the river and tucked behind homes... a secondary income for many... primary for some. Trouble is, pecans, in the past six or seven years, have really jumped in price and thieves noticed. A mechanical "picker" pulled through someone's pecan grove can fill a pickup bed pretty quick and make a farmer dang angry. So, for me, when I've a hankerin' for broiled, buttered and salted pecans, I buy a bag from one of a dozen vendors I pass by each month... BUT, had I time, a walk in the woods, filling pockets, is an excellent way to spend a morning.
THANKS! for looking and commenting, too!

A fixer upper for sure. Nice shot!
Yup, niteman3d, you're right... which is too bad 'cause it looks to have been a respectable house once upon a time. Pecan trees protect it from the suffocating Mississippi summer sun and add an attractive ambiance... when compared to the stark, exposed cotton fields behind. Pictured is the back side which evolved into a sorta shed... way too much time and money needed to save this though...

When I see things like this I try to get back and photograph the progression of their demise!!
Sounds like a commitment, Frank! And is a good idea but, this house is on a straight, flat, back road and I’m typically half asleep when I zip by… which I did this time, too… but turned around to spend a few minutes. That’s when I learned mosquitoes are fond of visitors!

…kinda sad…especially with that swing set under the porch…like it’s saying, “no more children playing…?”
That swing set saw better days, too, SkyKing... kinda wish I'd taken a few minutes to snoop but, mosquitoes were going after me and, well, anyone for a mile in any direction could see I was a nosey tourist tresspassing....
Glad you stopped by SkyKing- THANKS!!
I really appreciate the lighting, composition, and subject of this image. And, the use of the vignette was spot on. I think you have a great image here.
