This flower blooms in the morning and then folds up a little over an hour or so later.
It is a Hibiscus Trionum.

Yeah, I already missed it 5 times, at least, this summer.

A beauty! I am fortunate that my neighbors' hibiscus are usually open during my dog walks.

This is only about 1 1/2" diameter.
Our regular hibiscus are open all day.

I remember these from a past life, weeding the garden with former boyfriend. He wanted them eradicated as invasive weeds. I thought they were beautiful, and also liked their handsome seed pods, so always left a few, (along with some "Sweet Annie" artemisia, because it smelled so good).
