I recall a time in which this was a popular event in many cities and towns that had running streams. The problem that cropped up is that the event runners were not so great in corralling some of those ducks. This caused problems with intakes to the water processing plants.

Ah, yes, and we have the NYC reservoir here. That stream runs into it.
