Double-crested Cormorant watching over the pond

I saw this Double-crested Cormorant from a far off watching the pond from the rocks, I decided to set up and get the photo while I could. It spreading its wings a bonus during the shot. Taken from a far off using the heavy duty tripod with the gimble head for my Canon 7D Mark II | EF 100-400mm 4.5-5.6 L IS USM II with 1.4x TC at the Ninepipe National Wildlife Refuge in Carlo, MT.

Looks good! I like Cormorants, but they are peculiar in their eye-coloring and the way they swim half-submerged.

You did well. My tired eyes had to zoom in to see some of the details, but I could tell your image was nice and sharp to start with. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, I should have used my laser range finder to range distance... it was pretty far. I'm glad I used my Monfrotto/Bogan Heavy duty tripod with Wimberley Gimbal head for a steady hold on the camera/lens combo.
