I seldom shut off my PC. Occasionally I restart it, or am forced to restart due to software updates. Last night I decided to shut down and start in the AM. Wow!! It booted in about 15 seconds. I surely love that about Win 11. I have not detected many differences from Win 10, other than the new Start logo and search icons and locations.

I think I'm going to love the ride.
If you have not updated yet, good luck when you decide to run Win 11.

I think that Win11's Virtual Desktops are superior to Win10's.
Just bring up the Taskbar, hover over the Desktops Icon and choose a Desktop. You can assign a Wallpaper specific to each Desktop you create.
I use separate Desktops for email, work-related, post-processing, etc.

Thanks for the note, George. I have two monitors and all my frequently used apps are on my taskbar. I see no need to change my desktop. It's about the same as it was and I like it that way. Yea for Win 11!!

Just so you know, you can change the taskbar appearance to that of Win 10. I did it. More familiar. Don’t ask me how but I think it was a simple setting.

I can't see the merit of multiple desktops either (yet), maybe other than "organizational grouping of desktop icons".
Just another "window" to switch between. I only have maybe a dozen frequently used items pinned to my task bar, medium usage items are on the desktop. I've no problem opening the "Start Button" for rarely used items.

Mine did not change other than the Win logo and search bar. All my apps in my Win 10 taskbar remained the same in Win 11. To change, right click to the right or left of the Window logo and "Taskbar Settings" will appear. Select it to change the view.

Like most things in life, Desktops boil down to personal preference.

I got a new computer with SSD hard drive and it came with Windows 11. Lightroom and Photoshop and all the plugins fire up like lightening, I am so pleased!

SSDs have a tendency to do that.

I have lots of configured settings it must open in booting. Time for boot is dependent on those presets.
Good luck with Win 11.

Just looked it up. Thought it might be like partitioning a drive. Not bad.
