St. Anthony's Orthodox Monastery
So, in the middle of the Arizona desert, about 70 miles from downtown Phoenix, a Greek monastery popped up in the 90s. A myriad of chapels and prayer stations surrounded by orange and olive groves, it evokes what it would be like to be in ancient Greece just after construction. To get a sense of where this is take a look at the panorama and you can see how isolated it is. A real treat to walk around and photograph. Men must wear long pants and long shirts and women must wear a long skirt, no pants, long sleeves and have their heads covered. Not a destination for the AZ summer. Here's a link to their website:
