Wanted to shoot something creatively. Just too hot outside, 105 in the shade, so I went up to Lowes and picked up this potted flower to shoot inside. I have 5 different camera variations of this then settled on this one.

ISO 100
Propped a mirror in front of lens
Minor pre-press then added a Modern profile adding some overall violet.
Elegant! Very lovely result, Jim.
It's 106 in Yakima right now, with two or three more days of triple-digit misery before this particular heat wave moves on. Drink lots of water, Jim

Thank you Linda. I think we've had 52 no rain. 40 + days of 100+ and the weather man just said 7 more 100 +. We might get some rain this evening 🤞🤞🤞
The flowers and the background work well together. I think it might be the "overall violet" that you added plus the fact that there aren't any glaring distractions in the background. Sometimes an overall tint can help an image to hang together. I've seen Split Toning do the same sort of thing. It's similar to what sky replacement tools do. And violet is a nice change from the more usual red/orange/yellow that can turn out a bit garish if overdone.
Thank you Jack. Always welcome.😊

Thank you R.G.
The addition of the violet helped blend the light streak coming in from the left getting it to all flow better. I've been adding some overall color to many of my composites making all the elements harmonies better.
Very nice Jim - well done!
Elegant is the perfect word for this presentation, as Linda said. And I agree with RG that sometimes an overall color, in this case violet, can pull everything together. I'm going to try your mirror effect, thanks for listing your camera settings and workflow steps. Bev

I think the Helios was a good choice. The image is sharp enough. Not clinically sharp; but you wouldn't have wanted that. A vintage lens, especially one that has the character of the Helios makes this very appealing. Well handled and nicely presented.
