Real moonset and trees, fake reflection Simple to do in PS Elements, or check YouTube for PS videos. Bird added with a brush from brusheezy.com

Suggestions and observations welcomed. I'm thinking the "motion blur" filter in PSE left the closest water flat - probably not good?

Personally I think creating the reflection was pretty cool... I would not have really thought twice about the " flatness " of the water if you had not mentioned it. Night shot, a little longer exposure, maybe a very slight whisper of wind on the water ? I think you did great... I like it !

It looks excellent as is.
Nice touch moving the birds reflection slightly to account for the different perspective.

Thank you Bruce! I did have to think about whether the bird should be "upside down" My new-normal fuzzy brain is being taxed further by our week of triple-digit heat.

Given the darkness of the scene, I would never have thought about the "flatness" of the water. It's rippled where it counts, in the reflections of the foliage.

Overall, very nicely done! The bird is a nice touch.

Triple digit heat? In Maine? Wow. I think we've hit 95°F once so far this summer.

Thanks so much for your positive comments, Bill. As for the weather, I haven't lived in Maine for 20 years. Note "location" in my user name line The east side of the Cascades is mostly desert-like.

I understand now! Yes, those are freakish temperatures for Washington State.

My daughter is about to take a job in Death Valley... I can't imagine. I spent a couple of hours there in June once... I went back for three days in February.

The second photo is just an interesting photo, but the one with the water is a creepy Halloween mood photo, it requires and initiates thinking.

Life is easy with Flood from Flaming Pear. I have version 1 of flood which is now free in the archives.

Thank you, Don. And for the link also; one can never have too many toys in the playful pp pen!
