My friend wanted me to pick a photo for her out of my collection. I was goofing around with this one and kinda like it. I would like some other opinions good or bad before I commit & print. Thanks!

Let me preface this subject by first saying that it seems that I am always wrong and the only one that is wrong, but here goes:

When this post opened up on my screen, all I saw was the B&W portion. So I thought to myself why would anyone turn a landscape into B&W unless it was part of a civil war battlefield or something of that nature. Way too many barns converted to B&W when they should not be. Well, you get my drift.

Then I started to scroll and of course I saw the reflection in color. O.K., I see what you were trying to accomplish. Remember, this is me talking. To me, it comes off almost cartoonish. This combination too me is like oil and water. They don't mix. For lack of a better explanation, it really bothers my eyes.

Like I tried to explain, I am probably going to be the only one with this point of view, and I maybe even chastised for it. Lol. I bet every one else out here will think it is great. Maybe it is.

Can we still be friends?

I would have to agree with tainkc, Black and white with color does not mix well with landscapes. Fall colors are best in color.

Tainkc & Bangee5 here is the original. I'm going to have to agree with both of you. The more I looked @ it the less I liked it. I appreciate your honesty in not just saying "great shot" just to be nice. I haven't gone B&W since the film days and was just trying something different. Thanks again for helping me out :)

Great shot! Ha, Ha! Just kidding. Actually, it is very rich in color. But if you were to tone it down just a bit and see if you can lighten the shadows some, it may be near perfect.

I have a question. Did you add any vignetting?

I didn't care for the B&W one either, but the color version is very nice.

Here it is Au Natural. I had added "loomish" in Picasa which added the dark sides. Once again, was just tryin something different. Thank you all for your input, this is why I love this site, straightforward , honest opinions and folks who will help with suggestions. Thank you all ;)
