How revert to importing Raw shoots into LR Classic as CR2...not DNG?

Thank you

Go to your import settings and change it back ... Use Add or Copy rather than DNG. It used to be across the top of the screen, the screen where the images are selected with tick-marks and you can set the target directory and keywords and similar defaults.

Sorry to bother you again but I now have a much larger problem. None of my catalogues can be accessed. LR catalogue shows my folders for 1000's of photos on Drive C with zero content in each folder and subfolder. All of the folders are on Drive D (an internal SSD) where they have resided for several years. I simply do not know what to do.

Thanks

Have you corrupted your LRCAT? Or maybe, has an upgrade failed to transfer all your old data to a newly created catalog? Have you opened the wrong LRCAT file?

If you have the images in the catalog, but the 'file is missing', you might simply update the highest level folder to point to the proper D location rather than C. Or, you might review your available *LRCAT files and see if you have another version (maybe in the backup folder) that has all the proper images in the proper D location.

You may have a larger problem, something wrong / reconfigured about your computer that is impacting LR, but LR isn't the main problem. It's hard to guess exactly what is involved from just a 5-sentence description. If you can unravel what is the root-cause, or the exact details of the current situation, the recovery in LR should be relatively easy.

Assure your connected D drive is properly active, meaning you can see and access via Windows Explorer outside LR. When I say update the highest level folder, just right-click that folder in the LR folder list and select the option to update the current location. Navigate to the D drive and all subfolders should be updated in a cascading downward change.

Yep D drive is working fine, I try to go to sleep and try refreshed in the morning. At 83 this is getting past my pay grade.

Many thanks. If I can't fix, do you know of a LR expert whom I could hire to fix remotely?

Assuming you're an Adobe subscriber, your subscription gives you access to Adobe technical support who can 'remote into' your system and assist. Look for a chat option from the Help Menu, or the Adobe launch window, or Adobe.com as a last resort.

I just needed some help from Adobe yesterday. Called the help number and was connected in 10 minutes to someone who took control of my computer and solved my problem very quickly and professionally. I would call again if I needed help.

(800) 833-6687. Good luck. I know that sinking feeling. 😟
